Tribal Youth Resource Center Young Leaders Application OPEN

April 1 - April 30

History

The Tribal Youth Resource Center (TYRC) Young Leaders (YL) program started in 2021 aiming to empower young Indigenous leaders who are active in their tribal communities and committed to enhancing the lived experiences of themselves and their peers. The past graduates have co-created positive impacts at national and regional conferences and in Tribal communities with their peers, while also expanding their leadership and strengthening relationships through various ways, i.e. TYRC events, panels, podcasts, blogs and newsletters. The Young Leaders were also mentored by their peers and some have continued into the TYRC Emerging Leaders mentoring program. These young leaders represent diverse voices from various Tribes, Nations, Villages, and Pueblos.

Purpose

The purpose of the TYRC YLs is to co-create your talents, strengths, creativity and support to uplift youth voice through opportunities to share your perspectives on Native youth priorities. The TYRC purpose is “Enhancing the opportunities for Indigenous communities to expand their potential in protecting and nurturing their most sacred asset – their youth.

Opportunities

As a Young Leader you will have the opportunity to participate, engage, and share in Tribal Youth Resource Center-hosted events and contribute to the development of resources, such as:

• Participating and/or engaging in a variety of ways at TYRC meetings and trainings

• Serving on panels, conference sessions, or TYRC Online Learning Events to share youth perspective

• Writing posts for the TYRC blog, TYRC Quarterly Newsletter, and/or E-Weekly Update
