The themefor the newsletter is celebration and honoring the work of the Office of Juvenile Justice andDelinquencyPreventionJuvenileHealingtoWellnessCourtsandTribalYouthProgramsforproviding services that support Native youth to learn and thrive within their families, schools,and communities. The articles contained in the newsletter will explore, reflect, and build uponthe intersection and alignment of your service work with the sessions provided at the 2022OJJDP Tribal Youth National Conference, and honor the contributions of the elders, youth, andTYRC staff and consultants who are the core reason for the multileveled success of the event.Planningforthe2022Conferencebeganinthelatefallof2020,withseveralstartsandstops that coincided with an expanded and ambitious vision of the partnership between theOJJDPTribalYouthResourceCenterandtheOJJDPCenterforCoordinatedAssistancetoStates, resulting in co-located conferences in December 2022. This expanded vision camefrom a deep desire and commitment to respond to the historical need to ensure inclusion ofthose most impacted by the justice system in relevant decision-making processes, to lift upthe voices of those seldom heard and expand critical discourse, collaboration, and resources,andtocontinuetobuildandstrengthenauthentic,honorable,andrespectfulrelationshipsbetween Federal, State, and Tribal Nations. To that end, OJJDP, the Center for Coordinated Assistance to States, and the Tribal YouthResourceCenterwillcontinuetocollaborateandworkacrossbothTechnicalAssistancecenters, providing joint Online Learning Events for our grantees and with ongoing involvementfrom the young adults that we collectively serve. AswemoveforwardwithforthcomingissuesoftheTYRCNewsletter,weinviteandencourageyoutocontactustoshareyourideas,stories,photos,andinformationaboutevents you are planning in your community; the newsletter should reflect your interests and beof value to you and the communities you serve.
