DESCRIPTION:2025 Tribal Youth Justice Resource Center (TYJRC) Young Leaders (YL) Program\nTribal Youth Justice Resource Center Young Leaders Application\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHistory \nThe Tribal Youth Justice Resource Center (TYJRC) Young Leaders (YL) program started in 2021 aiming to empower young Indigenous leaders who are active in their tribal communities and committed to enhancing the lived experiences of themselves and their peers. The past graduates have co-created positive impacts at national and regional conferences and in Tribal communities with their peers\, while also expanding their leadership and strengthening relationships through various ways\, i.e. TYRC events\, panels\, podcasts\, blogs and newsletters. The Young Leaders were also mentored by their peers and some have continued into the TYJRC Emerging Leaders mentoring program. These young leaders represent diverse voices from various Tribes\, Nations\, Villages\, and Pueblos. \nPurpose \nThe purpose of the TYJRC YLs is to co-create your talents\, strengths\, creativity and support to uplift youth voice through opportunities to share your perspectives on Native youth priorities. The TYJRC purpose is “Enhancing the opportunities for Indigenous communities to expand their potential in protecting and nurturing their most sacred asset – their youth.” \nOpportunities \nAs a Young Leader you will have the opportunity to participate\, engage\, and share in Tribal Youth Justice Resource Center-hosted events and contribute to the development of resources\, such as: \n• Participating and/or engaging in a variety of ways at TYJRC meetings and trainings \n• Contributing to TYJRC podcasts as a guest speaker \n• Serving on panels\, conference sessions\, or TYJRC Online Learning Events to share youth perspective \n• Writing posts for the TYJRC blog\, TYJRC Quarterly Newsletter\, and/or E-Weekly Update \n• Other activities and opportunities relevant and aligned with your experience\, insights and expanding leadership skills. \nWe look forward to getting to know you! If chosen as a TYJRC Young Leader\, you will have the wonderful opportunity to be a representative of your community and join a group of Tribal peers that share their unique perspectives on challenges that face our youth today. Young Leaders will receive a stipend for their time and involvement. \nThe TYJRC works alongside Youth Healing to Wellness Courts and Tribal Youth Programs funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention in the areas of cultivating youth leadership and sustaining youth engagement in youth-centered programs and services. \nEligibility \nWe are looking for Young Leaders who have demonstrated commitment to bettering their communities and their lives. This can be done through school\, or in a program\, on your reservation or urban community. DESCRIPTION:Date: 28 April – 2 May 2025\n27 April 2025 – Student pre-conference\nLocation: Tamaya Resort\, Albuquerque\, New Mexico\, USA \nThe University of Washington’s Indigenous Wellness Research Institute (IWRI) is honored to be hosting the fifth International Network of Indigenous Health Knowledge and Development (INIHKD) Reclaiming Indigenous Ecologies of Love (RIEL) 2025 conference. \n• • • \nThe INIHKD RIEL 2025 Conference seeks to elevate and amplify Indigenous voices and lovingly address critical health issues impacting Indigenous communities globally. It will provide an engaging strengths-based forum for international leaders to share\, collaborate\, champion\, and envision a future of Indigenous health sovereignty\, loving collective actions\, and thrivance. \nThe conference will examine the multifaceted dimensions of love and health within Indigenous communities\, focusing on the healing impact of Indigenous ancestral love on physical\, mental\, and spiritual health\, culture\, and community prosperity.
