DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday\, March 9\, 2023 \nTime: 10am AKT/ 11am PT/ 12pm MT/ 1pm CT/ 2pm ET \nLength: 90 minutes \nSession Description: This will be the first of a three-part TYJRC Online Learning Event series focused on the needs and current service gaps of unsheltered and runaway Native youth across the country. The three-part series will also provide information on the correlation between unsheltered and runaway Native youth with being at a higher risk of becoming a victim of sex trafficking and human trafficking or becoming justice involved. The three-part series will include structured PPT presentations and interactive activities that will increase participants’ knowledge of the issue\, impacts of these issues on Native communities\, and increase knowledge of prevention & interventions strategies to reduce the occurrence of unsheltered and runaway youth in Native communities. Participants will also be provided tools and resources to support seeding work in their Native community on the issue if they choose. \nRegister HERE

DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday\, March 16\, 2023 \nTime: 10am AKT/ 11am PT/ 12pm MT/ 1pm CT/ 2pm ET \nSession Description: During this session\, the TYRC will lead a discussion around raising cultural awareness for youth involved in the Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court. Guests will discuss the ways children have been traditionally valued within community\, incorporating those traditional views of youth into legal codes\, and current JHWC practices that encourage youth to remain involved in the program after graduation through cultural practices. Guests will provide examples of aftercare where JHWC graduates have stayed active within cultural programming into their adult lives. \nRegister HERE
