DESCRIPTION:Dates: January 28-30\, 2025 \nLocation: Scottsdale\, Arizona \nDescription: The NICWA January 2025 Training Institute will be in Scottsdale\, Arizona on January 28–30.  There will be trainings on Positive Indian Parenting\, Understanding the Indian Child Welfare Act\, Cross-Cultural Skills in Indian Country\, and Tribal Customary Adoption on the land of the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPositive Indian Parenting\, Understanding the Indian Child Welfare Act and Cross-Cultural Skills in Indian Country will start at 8:00 a.m. on January 28 and end by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday\, January 30. \nTribal Customary Adoption will start at 8:00 a.m. on January 28 and end by 5:00 p.m. on January 29th (Please note that this training is one day shorter than the other training offerings). \nVisit www.nicwa.org/training-institutes to find more information. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe early-bird rate goes up on December 30\, 2024. DESCRIPTION:Date: January 29 -31\, 2025 \nLocation: Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort \nDescription: This training is for Tribal Judicial Officers. This interactive training uses hypothetical case scenarios\, small group discussion\, and “mini” lectures to provide new and experienced tribal judicial officers with the tools they need to develop or enhance their ability to identify children who are being trafficked or are at risk for victimization. Tribal judicial officers will also learn effective intervention strategies that respond to the individualized needs of each victim and a stronger sense of their court and community roles to help prevent and end child sex-trafficking. \nThere is no registration fee for this institute and travel scholarships covering airfare\, hotel\, meal per diem\, and ground transportation are available for the first 25 registered tribal judicial participants. You must be a tribal judicial officer to be eligible for participation in this institute. \nFor questions\, please contact Cheri Ely at cely@ncjfcj.org or (775) 507-4797 \nRegister Now!
